Academic Literacy is a rigorous course with high expectations in order to prepare you for AP and Honors level courses in the future. Students will be required to read, write, and work on homework/projects independently outside of class time. Choice novels and short story reading activities will vary throughout the semester and will be designed by the student through student voice and choice activities. Carrying out all expectations and learning outcomes with a positive attitude and a disciplined commitment to improving skills necessary to become fluent and effective readers and responders to print is necessary for success in this year-long course.
